bio! [16 Jan 2009|12:20am]

Name: Daniel Patrick Xavier
Goes By: Daniel; Dan, if you really must.
Birthday: 30th January / Age: 35 / Height: 6'2"
Hometown: Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, Wales, United Kingdom

1. Known for going to physical extremes to play his characters. He worked out endlessly for months to get his Olympian physique for American Psycho, practically starved himself for The Machinist and had to be told to stop, then built himself back up to superhero level for Batman Begins. Following that, he dropped 40 pounds for Hollywoodland and I'm Not There, built himself back up for The Dark Knight, and then put on 35+ pounds of pure body fat to play Dan Dreiberg/Nite Owl in Watchmen. That attracted a good deal of notice, as the Watchmen shooting schedule had some overlap with the Dark Knight publicity stuff, but since Watchmen shooting wrapped, he's lost nearly 50 pounds and is reportedly getting in proper condition to play Solid Snake in a film version of the Metal Gear Solid series.

2. Keeps this on the down-low out of respect for the dead, but he's seriously envious of the posthumous acclaim that Heath Ledger's been getting for The Dark Knight. The Metal Gear film is most likely going to happen, but, after that, he really does want to get back to serious dramatic work, with Batman kept in as long as: Christopher Nolan continues to direct the series, and there is no inclusion of Robin in the Nolan 'verse films for a good, long while.

3. In 2003, while he was prepping for The Machinist and doing little else, he starred in the porno, Dog-Style Afternoon, under the name Ace Hardcock. He starred opposite Quinn Prescott/Sterling Silver, and this video has yet to come to major light, e.g. paparazzi.

4. His father died when he was 14, but he's very close to his mother and older sister. Was appointed godfather of his nephew, Liam, who is now seven.

5. Almost no one ever remembers that he's Welsh. His American accent is that good.
